Helios Solar Monitor ("the App", "we", "us") is a solar production planning and forecasting application. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes and how. We designed Helios Solar Monitor to be privacy-first: your data stays on your device, and we do not operate any account system or analytics backend that profiles you.
1. Data We Process
Installation (facility) data you enter — name, geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude), province/district/address, panel type, panel count, tilt and azimuth angles, usage type, and production records.
Location data — if you tap "Use my location", the App reads your device's current location (precise) once to place a map pin. You can always set the location manually by tapping the map or searching an address instead.
All of the above is stored locally on your device and, for the home-screen widget, in a shared app group on your device. Except for the optional push notification service described in Section 2, we do not upload this data to any server operated by us.
2. Optional Push Notification Service ("Reliable delivery") — iOS only
The App can warn you about weather that threatens your installation (hail, high wind, extreme heat, dust, heavy cloud). These warnings are normally calculated on your device. Because a phone cannot be relied upon to wake itself up at the right moment, you may optionally enable Settings → Notifications → Reliable delivery, which lets our server perform the same check and push the warning to you.
This setting exists only in the iOS app and is off by default. The Android app has no such feature: it sends nothing to any server we operate, and everything in this section applies to iOS only. This is the only feature in either app that stores your data on a server we operate.
When you enable it, the following is stored on our server:

No account, no name, no e-mail, no advertising identifier, and no exact location is stored. The row is identified only by the push token. Our server holds no other copy of your installation data.
The service runs on Supabase (AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt, Germany). A log of delivery attempts (status code, error) is kept for 30 days for reliability troubleshooting and then deleted automatically.
Deletion: turning "Reliable delivery" off deletes your row from the server immediately. Deleting the App also removes it — once Apple reports the token as invalid, the row is deleted automatically.
3. Third-Party Services
To calculate solar production and weather forecasts, the App sends the coordinates of your installation (not your identity) to the following third-party services:

These requests contain only coordinates and technical parameters. They are not linked to any personal identifier. Please review each provider's own privacy policy for how they handle requests.
4. Subscriptions
Premium features are offered via auto-renewing subscriptions processed by Apple (StoreKit / App Store) on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android. We do not receive or store your payment information; the store handles all billing.
5. Tracking & Advertising
Helios Solar Monitor does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not sell your data.
iOS: the App contains no advertising SDK at all. The App Tracking Transparency framework is not used because we perform no cross-app tracking.
Android: the free tier of the Android app shows advertisements served by Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob accesses your device's advertising ID and standard device/network information; Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and its advertising terms. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we present Google's consent form (UMP) before any ad is loaded, and you may withdraw or change your choice at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy → Manage ad consent (shown where consent is legally required). You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's system settings.
No ads are shown to Premium or Pro subscribers on either platform, and on Android the advertising SDK is not initialised at all for subscribers.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is stored on your device, so you remain in full control:
- Delete an installation at any time from within the App.
- Use Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete All Data to erase all locally stored data.
- Deleting the App from your device removes all associated data.
If you enabled the optional push service (Section 2), the row on our server is deleted the moment you turn Reliable delivery off, and delivery logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / KVKK)
If you are in the EU/EEA (GDPR) or Türkiye (KVKK 6698), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, and to data portability.
For everything stored on your device, you exercise these rights directly in the App — we hold no copy. For the optional push service, the data controller is the developer named in Section 10; the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time by turning "Reliable delivery" off — this erases the data immediately. You may also contact us at the address below, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8. Children
Helios Solar Monitor is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Material changes will be surfaced in the App.
